Mary Ann Hyatt, 82, of Daniel Island, South Carolina, wife of David Hyatt, entered into eternal rest Saturday, July 18, 2026.

Mary Ann was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on December 2, 1943, the daughter of George Hutton and Katherine Harris Hutton. She grew up in Belmont, Massachusetts with her younger sister Kathy. Mary Ann attended Belmont High School where she fondly remembered her days as a cheerleader, Attending Boston Children's Hospital School of Nursing, she earned her RN subsequently working in Boston Children's Hospital Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Here she met her future husband, a surgical resident.

After spending two years at Fort Bragg, North Carolina where her husband was stationed after completing his residency, the family now with four sons returned to Massachusetts. Raising four boys led to days filled with multiple sports activities and ventures. Her diligent overseeing the boys' education was rewarded with three attending ivy league schools and the fourth going to the West Point Military Academy. With her sons in college and graduate schools, Mary Ann returned to work as the office nurse for her husband's thoracic surgical practice.

Mary Ann was active in her church where she was a lay minister and she delighted in roles in church musicals. She enjoyed summering at her vacation home on Cape Cod and looked forward to winter vacations in the Caribbean Islands. Mary Ann delighted in opportunities to travel to the British Isles, France, Italy and cruise European rivers by riverboat. Her hobbies included decorative furniture painting, creating floral arrangements and weaving Nantucket baskets. The onset of Alzheimer's disease was devastating to this wonderful. outgoing, loving and amazing woman. She will be indeed missed by her surviving family.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Kennedy. She is survived by her husband, David Hyatt, her four sons, Matthew Hyatt of Brookline, MA, Peter Hyatt of Fairfax, VA, Michael Hyatt of Charleston, SC, and Andrew Hyatt of Camp Humphreys, Korea; and nine grandchildren.
