Mary Jean Pye Howard, 83, of Ravenel, South Carolina, wife of Wandell Howard entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 15, 2023. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 pm, and the family will receive friends beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow at Sauldam Baptist Churchyard.

Jean was born September 6, 1939 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Jake C. Pye, Sr. and Caroline Postell Pye. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. 

She is survived by two sisters, Ethel Stokes of Ravenel, SC, and Mandy Wright (Danny) of Ravenel, SC; two brothers, Lucky Pye, of Charleston, SC, and Clarence Pye (Marlene) of Hollywood, SC; sister in law, Betty Pye, of Ravenel, SC; and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Sonny Pye and Jake C. Pye Jr., brother in law, Curtis Stokes, and sister in law, Pat Pye. 

Memorials may be made to Sauldam Baptist Church.
