Mary Reynolds Haltiwanger
June 24, 1941 — April 18, 2018
Mary Reynolds Haltiwanger, 76, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on April 18, 2018. She was preceded in death by her spouse, William C. (Otto) Haltiwanger, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa S. Jenkins (Bill); grandchildren Wm. Patrick Jenkins, Jr. (Lizi) and B. Michelle Jenkins (Buddy); and her brother Ed Reynolds (Mary Jo); along with many nieces and nephews. She was born in Danville, VA , eighth of nine children.
She graduated from George Washington High School and attended Averett College, both in Danville, VA. Mary was an avid reader who loved to write children stories and a member of The Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators for many years. Before her illness, she had a quick wit, loved to dance, and was an Auxiliary Member of American Legion Unit 0136.
The family wishes many thanks and gratitude to the staff of Homestead Hospice and Mount Pleasant Manor for their help and care in her final days.
