Mary Grooms

Mary Grooms, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Julian Atmar Grooms entered into eternal rest Saturday, March 29, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 11:00 am. Burial services will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel.

Mary was born January 16, 1927 in Janesville, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Stanley Gudzon and Anna Pollock Gudzon. She was a retired registered nurse and a graduate of Jersey City Medical Center in 1948, a former Member of US Cadet Nurse Corps and worked at Roper, St. Francis and Baker Hospitals. She was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and attended St. Mark's United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy G. Burn (Wilford R.) of Summerville, SC; son, Robert R. Grooms (Cynthia) of Hendersonville, NC; two grandsons, Christopher R. Burn of Summerville, SC and David M. Burn (Lauren) of Charlotte, NC.
