Mary Gertrude "Trudie" White Evans, 96, of Summerville, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 13, 2024. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel. 

 Mary ("Trudie") was born May 4, 1928 in Greensboro, North Carolina, daughter of the late George Cleveland White, Sr. and the late Gertrude McInnis White. She was married to her beloved husband, the late Wallace F. Evans for 66 years. Mary was a bookkeeper for Long Meadow Dairy Farm in Durham for many years. After relocating to SC, she was an active member of Summerville Presbyterian Church and loved her church family very much. Mary was loved by many friends and staff members at The Villages of Summerville. 

She is survived by niece, Joan White Lambert; nephews: George White, Foust "Sid" White, and Michael White all of NC, cousins: Sally McGahey and Ted Day of NC; great nieces: Cyndy Dail (Jeff) of SC, Mary Murphy, and Sarah Morgan of NC; great nephew, Bill Bellamy of NC; and many other special family members and friends. 

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother, George C. White, Jr; cousin, Mary Day, and niece, Virginia Summerour. 

A graveside service will be held January 11, 2025 in Maplewood Cemetery, Durham, NC at 1:00 pm.  A service was previously held for family and friends Friday, December 20, 2024 in the Chapel at The Villages of Summerville, 201 W. 9th N. Street at 2:00 pm..
