Mary Jones Dison

Mary Jones Dison, 87, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, formerly of Charleston, SC, widow of William Vichael Dison, Jr. entered into eternal rest Saturday, May 20, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 in Charlestowne Methodist Church, 1405 Miles Drive at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Mary was born February 12, 1930 in Washington, District of Columbia, daughter of the late Louis Ervin Jones and Elizabeth Smoak Jones. She was a graduate of North Charleston High School, and married William in 1946. The couple was married for 68 years when William passed away in 2014. She and her late husband owned and operated a Piggly Wiggly supermarket in Charleston, SC for over twenty-five years before retiring in 1986. They moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia in 2012 to be closer to their daughter and granddaughter.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jeanette Mary Dison of Lexington, KY; Lizbeth Anne Dison, son-in-law, William S. Brantley, III and granddaughter, Emma Elisabeth Dison Brantley, all of Tucker, GA.
