Mary Jane Crooks Connor, 101, of James Island, South Carolina, widow of George Nicholas Connor died Monday, January 28, 2019. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the graveside at Old St. Andrews Parish Churchyard at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.

Mary was born January 5, 1918 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Robert H. Crooks, Sr., and Lynn Carter Crooks. She was a bookkeeper at George N. Connor Office Supplies, Inc. Mary was the long running president of the Riverland Terrace Garden Club. She was the founding member of James Island Baptist Church and was directly involved in the founding of Ft. Johnson Baptist Church and Clearview Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Jim Connor (Janet) of Floyd, VA; three grandchildren, Amy Bradley (Jay), Carey McNamara (Bob), Matthew Connor and six-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and son Dr. Brian N. Connor.
