Mary Bargmann Cohen

Mary Bargmann Cohen, widow of Ansley D. Cohen, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
Born September 27, 1924 in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the daughter of William John Bargmann and Lucile Thee Bargmann. She attended Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia and the College of Charleston. She was a member of St. Philips Church. Her greatest joy in life was her family.
She is survived by children, Ansley D. Cohen, III, Edwin Warren Cohen, and Nancy C. Dudley (Bill); grandchildren, Lindsay C. Ovens (Bob), Ashley C. Sasser (James), Will G. Dudley, IV, and Caroline Davis Dudley; one great grandson, Weston James Sasser and one great granddaughter, Vaile Kelly Ovens. Mary is also survived by her sister, Betty B. Hunter of Columbia, SC and sister-in-law, Gray B. Thomas (Mark) of Summerville, SC and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, William J. Bargmann, Jr..
A memorial service will be held at St. Philips Church, 142 Church Street on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 1:00 pm with reception to follow in the fellowship hall. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Philips Church, 142 Church Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
