Mary Lou Cochran, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, the widow of Francis "Frank" Cochran, entered into eternal rest the afternoon of November 16, 2011.
Mrs. Cochran was born January 14, 1925 in Loris, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Osburne Bailey Hardwick and the late Zettie Gore Hardwick. She was a graduate of Loris High School and Loris School of Business. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and also a member of the Pythian Sisters, of the Knights of Pythias. Mrs. Cochran previously worked at the Charleston Drydock and Shipbuilding Company, as a supply clerk. While working there, she met her late husband of 63 years. She was also a secretary for the J. R. Deans Company and Cummings & McCrady Architectural Firm, where she retired. She was a very special lady who loved helping others in any way she could. She also enjoyed sewing and making crafts.
Mrs. Cochran is survived by her son, James F. Cochran and his wife Rosie, and her daughter, Deborah Cochran Lear and her husband Dave; six grandchildren, Haley Cochran, Corey Cochran, Erica Lear Bloodworth and her husband Butch, Amanda Lear, Ryan Lear and Kyle Lear, all of Charleston.
Mrs. Cochran was predeceased by her husband, a daughter, Frances Alberta Cochran, a sister, Frances Alberta Hardwick, and two brothers, James Osburne Hardwick and Joseph Bailey Hardwick.
The family would also like to express a "Very Special Thank You" to two wonderful women, Annie Kinard and Cindy Walters, who gave our parents so much love and care, in the final years of their lives.
The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Sunday, November 20, 2011 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL at 2 pm. The family will receive friends at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 12 Noon until time of service. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
