Mary Helen Bissett

Mary Helen Bissett, 60, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012, following complications from by-pass surgery. Her funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11:00 am . The burial will be private. The family will receive friends at Stuhr's, Thursday between 5:00 and 7:00 pm.

Mary was born December 31, 1951 in Columbia, South Carolina, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Bissett and Hazel Appleby Bissett. She received her Masters Degree in Architecture from Clemson University in 1976. She worked in Washington, DC and New York City for 15 years, living in Columbia, SC for several years and moving to Charleston in 1999. She loved living in downtown Charleston with her soul mate Jefferson, a West Highland Terrier,

She is survived by her two sisters, Marion O. Bissett of Salem, AL and Becky B. Wyffels (Tom) of Marshall, MN, numerous cousins, friends and her many dog friends.
