Mary Christine Bator, 95, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Theodore E. Bator died Sunday, May 15, 2016. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016, in St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church (The Church of the Holy Cross), 299 Seven Farms Road, Daniel Island, SC at 11:00 AM. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Mary was born July 27, 1920 in Ware, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Angus Daniel McDonald and the late Rosabelle MacDonald McDonald. Mary worked as an administrative assistant in the Patent Office. She volunteered at Walter Reed Hospital, with the Down Syndrome Organization started by Eunice Shriver. She was also a scout leader and the official family docent for friends visiting the Washington, DC area. Mary was a beautiful seamstress and made all her daughters clothes. First and foremost she was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Pisarski and her husband, Paul, of Palm City, FL, and Diane Cigich of Westlake Village, CA; four grandchildren, eight great grandsons; and sister, Katherine Stevens of Easthampton, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Doris LaVallee and Betty Stille.
