Mary Nell Atkinson

Mary Nell Finklea Atkinson, 82, of West Ashley, South Carolina, wife of Robert Lee "Bob" Atkinson entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 10, 2019. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 13, 2019 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 14, 2019 at the graveside in Honey Hill Cemetery, Honey Hill, SC at 11:00 a.m.

Mary Nell was born May 21, 1936 in Honey Hill, South Carolina, daughter of the late George Walter Finklea and Arlene Bullard Finklea. She was a retired registered nurse with Baker and Roper Hospital. Mary Nell loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were her life. She loved her Clemson Tigers.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee "Bob" Atkinson of West Ashley, SC; three daughters, Marian C. Stanton (Roger) of McLean, VA, Kristen L. Atkinson of West Ashley, SC, Stacy A. Fletcher (Andrew) of Mount Pleasant, SC; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda F. Taylor of Kingstree, SC, Julia F. Corn of Lake Wateree, SC, and Faye Finklea of Burnsville, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Robin Laree Atkinson, sisters Eva F. Burns, Adra F. Benton and brother George W. Finklea, Jr.
