Mary Ann Pfaff Corderman, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Capt. Roy Clinton Corderman, Jr, DDS, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 2, 2012. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 in the Westminster Presbyterian Church, at 10:00 am. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel.
Mrs. Corderman was born April 15, 1925 in Pfafftown, North Carolina, the daughter of Albert E. Pfaff and Bessie Parrish Pfaff.
She married her husband of 63 years in August 27, 1949 in Winston Salem, NC. He was commissioned with the US Navy as a Dentist. She was a career Navy wife following Dr. Corderman to postings stateside in California and overseas including Hawaii and Guam.
She was active in Charleston as President of Charleston Lions Club Auxiliary, President of the Sandhurst Garden Club and a member of the Council of Garden Clubs. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three nieces, Harriett Shortridge Youtz (Phil) of Palm Coast, FL, Shirley Ann Pfaff of Winston Salem, NC, Mary Shortridge Darling of Charlotte, NC, nephew, John F. Shortridge (Sissy) of Oak Island, NC, brother-in-law, Warren Corderman (Cindy) of Williamsburg, VA, and several great nieces. She was predeceased by her parents and step-mother Atha Pfaff, two brothers, Agnew Pfaff and Gray Pfaff all of North Carolina.
