Marvin Eugene Ziegler

Marvin Eugene Ziegler, 77, of Goose Creek, SC, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in Aledo, IL. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Stuhr Northwoods Chapel.

Marvin was born September 7, 1940 in Moline, IL, son of the late Kenneth William Ziegler and the late Florence Ruby Mier Ziegler. He was a US Army veteran who served in Korea. Marvin was a retired over the road truck driver and a member of the American Legion Post #166, Goose Creek, SC. He enjoyed painting mountain landscapes, woodworking and shooting his black powder guns with his best friend, Derrel.

He is survived by three daughters: Theresa Shirley (Gene), Sonja Conner (James), Johanne Bridges (Jimmy) all of Goose Creek, SC; four sons, Mikkel Steffensen (Jackie) of Summerville, SC, Aksel Steffensen (Shannon) of Goose Creek, SC, Donald Ziegler (Sharon) of Summerville, SC, Andy Steffensen (Angela) of Goose Creek, SC; sister, Joyce Rice of IA; brother, Ron Ziegler of IL; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; special companion, Pauline Schmidt of Aledo, IL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glados Marie Ziegler; sister, Carolyn K. Baker and two grandchildren, Jason Brown and J. R. Brown.
