Marvin Lee Thames, Jr., 62, of Awendaw, South Carolina, husband of Jacqueline Gay Lutz Thames entered into eternal rest Monday, January 31, 2022. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 4, 2022, in Mt. Olivet Pentecostal Holiness Church, 8469 Doar Rd, Awendaw at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 3, 2022 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd., from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Marvin was born March 6, 1959 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Marvin Lee Thames, Sr. and Edna Jackson Thames. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Lowcountry, but most of all, loved his grandchildren who were the joy of his life. He drove for James White Construction, and attended Mt. Olivet Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jacqueline Gay Thames of Awendaw, SC; his father, Marvin Lee Thames, Sr. (Janet) and mother, Edna Thames all of Awendaw; children, Tyler Thames (Christina) of Hanahan, Bailey Turnage (Steven) of Awendaw and Brenna Thames of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren, Gabrielle Turnage of Awendaw, and Jackson Thames and Weston Thames of Hanahan; siblings Kevin Thames (Amy) of Mt. Pleasant, and Donna Fischer (Otis) of Awendaw SC.
