Marvin B. Rosenberg was born June 30, 1940 in South Ozone Park, New York, the son of Goldie Forman and Abraham Abel Rosenberg. He had an older brother Paul Sosnick and an older sister Judith Greenwald. He was athletic and hardworking and left Queens to attend SUNY Stony Brook and New York University Law School.

He married his college sweetheart, Judith Intrator and had two children, Julie and Abel (and his wife, Jill). He raised his children and lived for much of his adult life in Westport, Connecticut, working first as a patent attorney and then as corporate counsel for much of his career.

Marvin loved life; he worked hard and played hard. To offset the high pressure of corporate life, he raced vintage cars, focusing on navigating the track and won his share of trophies. In his spare time, he also played various guitars and banjos, played baseball, tennis and squash and was an invaluable counsel and friend to all who were lucky enough to know him. Marvin had a unique, endearing ability to listen, see through the noise and offer his wise counsel.

Marvin was a Giant in the equipment and distribution industry. He played a major role in the early development and growth of Terex Corporation having served as General Counsel and Board Member during the significant growth years of Terex as it grew from a small multimillion dollar equipment provider to a multibillion dollar global equipment manufacturer. At the same time as Marvin was instrumental in the growth of Terex, he was serving on the Board of Fruehauf Corporation, a New York Stock Exchange traded multibillion dollar international Company.

Upon his retirement, Marvin continued to participate in the industry as a trusted advisor and Board Member for the Nasdaq traded equipment and distribution Company, Manitex International. He spent over 20 years providing his vast experience, professionalism and guidance to Manitex including assisting in the eventual sale of the Company to a large International entity.

Marvin was respected by all of his peers for his many contributions accumulated over a career that spanned decades and touched countless lives. His kindness, humor and positive approach to solving any complexity he faced will be sorely missed.

While a serious, formidable businessman and attorney in his professional life, which he was still active in, at 85 years of age, “Poppa Marvin” was a loving, dedicated grandfather to Hannah, Aaron, Allie, Gracie and Colin who all adored their Poppa.

In later years, Marvin loved relaxing with his wife, Mary, by watching pro football and basketball. He also continued his passion for music, attending various concerts and local bluegrass venues with friends.

Marvin believed strongly in hard work and independence; he gave graciously to individuals and supported the efforts of others. To honor him, consider taking what you would donate in his name and find someone who is working hard and deserves a hand, and lighten their burden; that would make him proud.

Marvin’s funeral and interment were held on December 23, 2025, in the Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. He will be forever loved and missed.
