Marvin E. Ard

Marvin E. Ard, 80, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Friday, May 13, 2016. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Marvin was born December 25, 1935 in Turbeville, South Carolina, son of the late Guy McBride Ard and Mamie Watts McBride Ard. He was the President of Jackson-Ard Opticians. Marvin was a member of the St. Andrews Rotary Club, SC Optical Board of Examiners, SC Opticians Association.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth A. Cox of Charleston, SC; son, Steve A. Ard of Elizabethtown KY ; four grandchildren, Bennett E Cox III, Rodney M Cox , Michael C Ard and Angela D Hardy and 3 great grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Busbee of West Columbia, SC; Rebecca Grooms of Columbia, SC, and a brother, Steve Raymond Ard of Wagner, SC.
