Martin Schweitzer

Martin Schweitzer, 76, husband of Joyce Keele Schweitzer of Sullivan's Island, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011. The relatives and friends of Martin Schweitzer are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Sunday, July 10, 2011 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens with military honors  The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, 2011 in the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. 

Martin was born on August 18, 1934 in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania, son of the late Claude Isaiah Schweitzer and Ellen Noll Schweitzer.  He served for 31 years in the United States Navy and Reserves and retired as a Chief Petty Officer.  For over 29 years, he worked for South Carolina Electric and Gas Company and retired as a line foreman.  He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church on the Isle of Palms.

 He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joyce K. Schweitzer of Sullivan's Island, SC; two daughters, Sarah Schweitzer of Cumming, GA and Delores Schweitzer of Sullivan's Island, SC; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Link. The family requests memorials be made in memory of Martin to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, P.O.
