Martha Bonner Brothers Woodside, 95, of Mount Pleasant, SC, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. Her private funeral service will be held at the graveside in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC Friday September 11, 2015. The family will receive friends Tuesday September 8, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mount Pleasant, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Martha was born March 28, 1920 in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Dr. John Parkerson Brothers and Martha Bonner Curry Brothers. Martha's life was rich and full with many artistic gifts, infectious humor and many adoring friends. Her indomitable spirit and enduring optimism were hallmarks of her life.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Ben Perry Woodside Jr. She is survived by her three children, Ben Perry Woodside, III., and his wife Linda, John Parkerson Woodside and his wife Sara, and Mary Ellen Woodside; her grandchildren, Adrienne Woodside Logel (Toby), Harrison Woodside, Emily Woodside Heflin, Kate Woodside, Margaret Woodside Keele (Wesley), Lee Davis, Ben Woodside Davis, and her five great-grandchildren.
