Martha Elise Thrower

Martha Elise Thrower, 80, formerly of Goose Creek, SC, widow of Wade Hampton Thrower, Jr. died Monday, February 16, 2015 in Boulder City, NV. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 in First Church of God, 10383 Highway 78, Summerville at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, February 27, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. NORTHWOODS CHAPEL.

Martha was born August 28, 1934 in Florence County, SC one of seven children of the late Willard Troy Elmore and the late Etta Edna Miles Elmore. She was member of First Church of God in Summerville where she taught Sunday school; she was also a nanny. Martha earned her degree from Goose Creek High School at the age of 47. She worked as a security guard at Baptist College (now known as Charleston Southern University).

She is survived by her daughter, Edna B. Barton (George) of Henderson, NV; son, Emitt L. Thrower (Robin) of Everett, WA; identical twin sister, Bernice Gilmore of St. George, SC; seven grandchildren: Cameron Thrower, Jennifer Hiler, Amanda Harries, Ryan Thrower, Christopher Thrower, Savannah Thrower and Collin Thrower; eight great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband Wade; their son, Robert Dale Thrower and a granddaughter, Lydia Elise Thrower.
