Martha “Marty” Anne Colas of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026.

Marty is survived by her sons, Greg (Jacklyn), Tim (Mary), and Todd (Rhonda). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Raymond; her son, Marvin; her grandson Chase; her parents, Ned and Arline Reish; and her brother, Arwyn.

Marty lived a rich and joyful life, devoted to her family and to the many friendships she cultivated over the years. She raised her four sons first in Great Bend, Pa. and later in Manassas, Va. creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Gregarious, witty, and genuinely delightful, Marty had a gift for connecting with people and bringing joy to those around her.

Throughout her life, Marty enjoyed careers at IBM, Costco, and Peebles, but she especially cherished her time working as an interior decorator.

Marty and Ray’s home in Manassas was the heart of countless family gatherings and holiday celebrations. She delighted in preparing elaborate meals and somehow always managed to find room at the table for everyone. Nothing brought Marty greater happiness than her 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by her love.

Some of Marty’s happiest moments were spent at the beach with Ray, enjoying long walks together and exploring local boutiques and outlet shops. A devoted animal lover, she welcomed many cats and dogs into the family over the years and never tired of sharing stories about their amusing antics.

Marty will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and sister whose kindness, warmth, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and friends.

In remembrance of her life, family and friends are welcome to join us for the inurnment of her ashes at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, Va. on August 24th at 10:00 am.
