Martha "Joby" Atwood Albers

Martha "Joby" Atwood Albers, 93, of Charleston, SC, wife of the late B. Carsten "Carsie" Albers, entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 5, 2025. Her graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Drive at 1:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Joby, a coal miner's daughter, was the youngest of 8 born in McRoberts, Kentucky, to the late George W. Atwood and Annie Mae Norman Atwood. Joby spent her life loving her family and giving to others. Joby was a charter member of Holy Comforter Lutheran Church, later merged to Holy Spirit Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling with the Telephone Pioneers and was a life member of the Charleston Rifle Club. Through her volunteerism around the Low Country, Joby made immeasurable positive impacts. Everyone who met her absolutely adored her because of her kind, sincere gift to make others feel good.

She is survived by her daughter Martha A. (Glenn) Phillips, son George C. (Celeste) Albers, granddaughter Corrie A. P. (Andrew) Glover, grandson Kyle A. (Chelsea) Phillips, and three great-grandchildren, Kade Glover, Jesse Glover, and Kimber Phillips.

Memorials may be made to Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 3075 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC 29414.
