Marley Kanoelani Lion entered into eternal rest on the morning of June 16, 2012. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service in St. James Episcopal Church Ministry Center on James Island, Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at St. James Episcopal Church Ministry Center on Wednesday, June 20, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Marley was born July 31, 1994 in Lihue, Hawaii, the son of William Byron Swartz and Elizabeth Mizell Paige. He graduated from Academic Magnet High School and was an incoming freshman at Clemson University. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church where he served as a crucifer.
Marley was a strong, happy and handsome young man. He was a talented musician, hard working athlete, bright student, loving son, brother and grandson, and a faithful friend. His exuberant and playful spirit, his compassionate nature, his deep strength, and his strong love blessed many lives and he will be greatly missed here.
Marley is survived by his mother and step-father, Robert Paige, of Johns Island; his father, Will Swartz of Washington State; two brothers, Ethan Miles Paige and Robert Duane Paige; maternal grandparents, Patricia Berne Mizell, Hayes Mizell and Kate Swanson of Columbia, SC; and paternal grandparents, Angie and Sam Livengood of Little River, SC and Donna and Bruce Paige of Lake Oconee, GA.
