Mark Gordon Griffin, 68, of Charleston, SC, entered into his final homecoming on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

Mark was born October 23, 1955, in Charleston, SC, the son of the late Francis M Griffin and the late Mary Brown Griffin. Mark enjoyed sports and played basketball in his early years. He attended Clemson University and was a huge Clemson Football Fan. Mark later graduated from the College of Charleston. Mark had many hats; he worked at MUSC, managed several restaurants and convenience stores, and later enjoyed driving for Uber. Mark lived by his own rules, including the “Griffin Rule” - if he was awake, so were you. He told you what he thought, stood up for what he believed in, and loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his two children, Asher “Nikki” Griffin (Naomi) of Sumter, SC; and Michael Griffin, of James Island, SC; his brother, Daniel M. Griffin (Edith) of Elgin, SC; his sister, Gerri Markussen, of Clermont, FL; and his closest friends Ken Johnson (Melissa) and Charlie Layson.

His family and friends will gather on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the Charleston Battery Seawall, at 3:00 pm, where Mark will be reunited with his mother. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel.
