Marjorie Almand Shuler, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Connor Bernell Shuler entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 13, 2018. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 in St. Mark United Methodist Church, 413 Geddes Ave at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends in the Church from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow in Island Cemetery, Providence SC at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.
Margie was born August 3, 1928 in Griffin, Georgia, daughter of the late Howard Warren Almand and Frances Joye Almand. She was a graduate from School of Nursing of the Medical College of South Carolina where she received her degree in nursing. She worked for Dr. F.M. Ball as a registered nurse for over 30 years until her retirement. Margie was Charter member of St. Mark United Methodist Church where she served as a Lay Pastor, Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher. She was also a longtime member of United Methodist Women, and led services for The National Day of Prayer.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Shuler Studebaker (Greg Mitchum) of Charleston, SC; daughter-in-law Terry Shuler, brother-in-law Phillip Perrey, and three grandchildren, Kevin Shuler (Amanda), Allison Grantis (Jim), and Shelby Studebaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Connor Shuler, her son, Bryan Connor Shuler, and her brother and sister, Marijo Almand Hiott & Howard Warren Almand, Jr.
