Marjorie Wells Jagar, 98, of Beaufort, South Carolina, widow of E. L. "Jack" Jagar entered into eternal rest Sunday, March 27, 2016. Her Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 4, 2016 in St. Philip's Church, 142 Church Street at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Following the service the family will receive friends in the church for a reception. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Marjorie was born May 10, 1917 in Winnsboro, South Carolina, daughter of the late Lionelle Dudley Wells and Theodora Klinck Rabb. She spent most of her adult life in Charleston, SC. She was a member of St. Philip's Church, faithfully serving on the altar guild. She was also a member of the Charleston Library Society, Ladies Benevolent Society, SC Historical Society, the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, the Huguenot Society of SC, the Society of First Families of SC, and the Charleston Museum.
She is survived by her son, John E. Jagar (Suzanne) of Beaufort, SC; daughter, Ann W. Jagar of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren: Ashley J. Hood of Iowa City, IA and John Ross Jagar of New York City, NY; and three great-grandchildren.
