Marion Willis Walden

Marion Walden, 91, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2012. She was born April 13, 1921 and was the daughter of Boyd and Blanche Willis of Cottageville, SC.

To the end of her life, she remained very active with many interests including gardening, quilting, watching Clemson sports and traveling to visit family. She was a committed member of John Wesley UMC, as well as several other groups, including the ACA antique car club.

Marion was preceded in death by her daughter, Dixie Lee; son, Robert, and husband of 47 years, Joe Walden.

She is survived by 2 sons, Boyd Walden and wife, Jane, of Richmond Hill, GA; Derryl Walden and wife, Betty, of Cary, NC; daughter, Connie Horne and husband, Larry, of Keystone Heights, Fl; and daughter-in-law, Patsy Prioleau of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She also is survived by 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, at J HENRY STUHR WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway and the funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Charleston. Committal Services will follow at Cottageville Cemetery, Jacksonboro Road.
