Marion "Mae" Stello

June 26, 1923 — October 23, 2015

Marion "Mae" G. Stello, 92, of Hanahan, SC, found her way into the loving arms of the Lord and her waiting husband, Albert P. Stello, Sr., on Friday, October 23, 2015. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 30, 2015 in the Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 1106 Fort Drive, Hanahan, SC at 9:00 a.m. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC. The family will receive friends Thursday evening in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mae was born on June 26, 1923 in Methuen, Massachusetts to the late Wilfred Worsman and Helen Playdon-Worsman. Mae was a devout Catholic and attended the Divine Redeemer Catholic Church in Hanahan, SC since 1964. She was a member of the Divine Redeemer Women's Club for nearly 50 years, serving as its president for several terms, and voted Divine Redeemer Catholic Woman of the Year for Charleston three times. She also served on the Parish Council for two terms and was past President of the VFW in Franklin, Massachusetts. Mae was an avid bowler her entire life, even bowling in three leagues as late as April of this year. Prior to becoming a wife and full time mother of 7 children, she also enjoyed working for the FBI. Mae was a loving and giving person, who always saw the good in people. Mae touched the lives of so many people from the congregation at church to her bowling friends. She will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by her daughter, Priscilla Quince, and her four sons, Paul A. (Jean) Stello, Charles D. (Criss) Stello, Richard A. (Suzanne) Stello, and Thomas John Stello; 18 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, and two sons, Albert P. Stello, Jr., and Timothy Wade Stello.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Divine Redeemer Women's Club, 1106 Fort Drive, Hanahan, SC 29410.
