Marion K. Puckhaber, 92, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Martin Luther Puckhaber, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017 in Old St. Andrews Parish Church, 2604 Ashley River Road at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 25, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Puckhaber was born in Long Island, NY, and was the daughter of Adam Henry Komorowski and Veronica Mary Brennan Komorowski. After attending local schools Mrs. Puckhaber relocated to Charleston, SC in 1947. She was a homemaker and caregiver most of her life. She worked for a short time in communications at the Charleston Air Force Base in the 1950's. She and Martin married in 1961 at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. In her younger years, Mrs. Puckhaber was an avid gardener and known for her love of preparing large family meals. She enjoyed many hobbies including painting, needle craft and also spent countless hours fishing, crabbing, and enjoying Charleston outdoor life.
She is survived by her three stepsons and their families, Martin L. Puckhaber, III, Alan Puckhaber, and Eugene Puckhaber, her granddaughter, Annette Bell Murphy and her husband Joseph Murphy, a favorite nephew and his wife, David and Judy Lyle and a very special daughter and son, Jeanne Holladay and Charlie Pickett. Marion is preceded in death by her husband Martin, daughter, Veronica Helen Puckhaber Condon and son, Harry Bell, III.
