Marion Caddin Platt, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, in the Salvation Army Chapel, 2135 Ashley River Rd, at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 9:00 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Marion was born April 6, 1935 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late William Heyward Platt and Janie Francis Davis. He was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, who later worked as a long distance truck driver and received several "million mile" safety awards.

He is survived by his sons, Marion Platt Jr., Michael H. Platt, and (grandson) Reverend Marion Platt III; and his daughters, Mary Sutton, Melinda Jenkins, and Melanie Platt. He was also a loving presence to a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Marion was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred Cox Platt.
