Marilyn Smith Weeks, 90, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late William Mosley Weeks peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 20, 2024 surrounded by her family. Her graveside service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024, in Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road at 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, February 2, 2024 at J. Henry Stuhr, Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Marilyn was born September 16, 1933, in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Julian Allen Smith and Lucille Pieper Smith. Marilyn grew up in Old Windermere, graduated from St. Andrews High School, and later attended the College of Charleston. She is a former Miss Charleston, 1953. She was an Insurance Assistant for her husband at Weeks State Farm on James Island. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She welcomed everyone in to the Weeks home in Fort Johnson Estates and treated them all like Family.
She is survived by her three sons, Kenneth Hayes Weeks, Mark William Weeks, Esq., Scott Allen Weeks; daughter, Catherine (Beth) Weeks Galt (Hutch); five grandchildren, Colby Weeks, Alexa Weeks Croen (Ben), Taylor Weeks, Julianna Weeks, and Kyle Galt; nephew, George Michael Lohr (Lora); and niece, Barbara Allen Lohr Teller. A special thank you to Angie Guffin Rabon, Kelly Byrd Dipace, Dolly Droze and Christina Frasier.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Katyna Spach Weeks, her nephew David Lohr, and her sister, Jacqueline Smith Lohr Mappus.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s and Pet Helpers on Folly Road.
