Marilyn Modica Skinner

August 27, 1947 — July 13, 2010

Marilyn Modica Skinner of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at her residence.  A Celebration of Marilyn's life will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 4:30 PM.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until time of service at 4:30 PM.  Mrs. Skinner was born  August 27, 1947 in Philadelphia, daughter of Josephine Minissa Modica and the late Harry Modica.  She worked as a Registered Nurse with the Dialysis Clinic, Inc.,  Hospice of Charleston as well as Lutheran Hospice.  Prior to moving to Charleston, Marilyn worked in the Emergency Room at Misericordia Hospital in Philadelphia.  She liked traveling, shopping, and gardening.  Marilyn had a love for animals, cooking, the beach; and one of the great joys of her life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.  One of Marilyn's greatest gifts was the compassion she demonstrated as a Hospice nurse. Surviving are her two daughters, Amy Crocetti of Virginia Beach, VA and Nina McNichol of Havertown, PA; two sons, Michael Crocetti of Orlando,  FL and Joseph Crocetti of Jenkintown, PA; her mother, Josephine Modica of Bethel, Ohio, sister, Dolores Morgan of Bethel, Ohio, and her grandchildren, Gabrielle, Nicholas, Ryan, Jaden, Michael Jr., Brendan and Lee. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Calabria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, "Kaleidoscope Foundation", 3870 Leeds Avenue, Suite 101, North Charleston, SC 29405.
