Marilyn Cockerham Ballard, 76, of Hollywood, South Carolina, wife of the late John Lynn Ballard, entered into eternal rest Friday, March 24, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Ashley River Baptist Church, 1101 Savannah Hwy., at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Ashley River Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.

Marilyn was born March 21, 1941 in DeQueen, Arkansas, daughter of the late Percy Robert Cockerham and Gladys McCauley Jones. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Lynne O'Dell (Chuck) of Bryan, TX; Diana Deakin Mercado (Ian) of Hollywood, SC; two brothers, Wayne Cockerham (Fern), and Larry Cockerham (LaDonna), both of Norman, OK; two grandsons, Justin Ross Mercado and Ryan Michael Mercado both of Hollywood, SC.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Ross Deakin, two sons, John Michael Deakin, and David Ross Deakin.
