Marie Rease Nash

Marie Rease Nash, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina entered into eternal rest December 4, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her treasured family. She was born Marie Lemuel Rease to Dora Melinda and Wilbur Ward Rease on October 1, 1929 in Richland County, SC. She was the widow of Thomas Walter Nash who passed away in 2007 in Charleston, SC.

Marie was the sixth of seven children and grew up in Eastover, SC. Upon graduating from Lower Richland High School, she moved to Charleston and began working. She met her husband who called her the light of his life; they married, owned and operated Palmetto Electric Company and stayed in Charleston for 56 years, till death separated them. Marie was extremely active in and devoted to St. John's Episcopal Church, Oakland, throughout her adult years. She also loved being outdoors and spent most of her free time either gardening or bicycle riding.

Marie leaves behind 3 devoted children, Kay (Dennis) Nash Baker, Lynn (Skeeter) Nash Jutzeler, and Thomas (Donna) Nash Jr. Her loving grandsons; Bryan Baker, Kevin Baker, Joey Jutzeler, Jeremy Jutzeler, Trey Nash and Chris Nash. Her loving great-grandchildren, Will Jutzeler, Mary Gray Jutzeler, Camden Jutzeler, Jonah Jutzeler, Cohen Nash Baker and Branson Howell Baker. Marie is survived by her younger sister, Betty Rease Kelly (Eastover, SC).

Her Funeral Service will be held Friday December 9, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
