Marie Ann Mendes Lynn

Surrounded by her family after a brief illness, Marie Ann Mendes Lynn entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of August 2, 2011.  Residence, Charleston, South Carolina; formerly of Brunswick and Vidalia, Georgia.  Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Old St. Andrew's Parish Church, 2604 Ashley River Road, at 2 pm.  The Reverend Marshall Huey will officiate.  Following the service, there will be a visitation and luncheon in the Parish Hall.  Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.

Born on April 15, 1944 in Brunswick, Georgia, Marie was the daughter of the late Frank and Bessie Hilliard Mendes.  She was a graduate of Glynn Academy, Brunswick, Georgia, Class of 1962 where she also retired from Dubs Jewelers.  Marie was the owner of Lynn's Antiques in  Brunswick and Darien, Georgia.  She was also the owner of Lynn's Food Service in Vidalia, Georgia.  She was an avid bowler and full-time Granny to her much loved grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Gina Lynn of Montrose, GA, Cher Lynn Clayton and her husband Steve Clayton of Charleston, and Craig Lynn of Charleston; two grandchildren, Madison Marie Clayton and Jackson Alexander Clayton both of Charleston, and sister-in-law, Barbra Lynn of Brunswick, GA.  Marie was preceded in death by her husband Jack Lynn.
