Marie Hudson Evans

Evelyn Marie Hudson Rennard Evans, 80, of Mount Pleasant, SC, widow of Andreas "Red" Evans, died Saturday, September 15, 2012. The relatives and friends of Marie Evans are invited to attend her Funeral Service in J.HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the chapel on Monday, September 17, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.

Marie was born August 14, 1932 in Jacksonville, FL, the daughter of the late William Buford Hudson and Lille Mae Harrison Hudson. A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and member of the Disabled American Veterans, Marie retired from the State of South Carolina as head accountant with the Coastal Center. Marie and her husband, Red, owned and operated an antique shop in Charleston and in Alexandria, VA. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for never forgetting an anniversary or a birthday.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Evans and his wife Cathy of Mount Pleasant, SC, David Evans and his wife Debra of Summerville, SC, and George Herbert Rennard, Jr. of Bluffton, SC; her daughter, Dorothy Kurkowski and her husband Bob of Summerville, SC; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Julian Hudson and his wife, Ethel of Tampa, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
