Marie M. Boykin

Marie M. Boykin, 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late Dewey Boykin, entered into eternal rest Saturday, October 12, 2024. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 21, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. 

Marie was born September 4, 1933 in Gordon, Georgia, daughter of the late Ernest May and Mammie Drake May. Marie received her South Carolina practical nursing license on November 25, 1969. She worked as a nurse at Parkwood Pediatrics until the age of 75. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves fan. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, and, much like her nursing career, taking care of others in need.

She is survived by daughter, Frances Boykin of Charleston, SC; grandson, Kurt Cubberley of Charleston, SC; and son-in-law, Donald Cubberley.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia M. Boykin.
