Marian Elizabeth "Betty or Boo" Stelljes, 91, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Edwin "Eddie" H. D. Stelljes, Sr. of 50 years, entered into eternal rest Monday, September 25, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023, in the Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive at 10:30 am.  Prayers of final commendation and farewell will be in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel. 

Betty was born October 2, 1931, in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Francis A. McMahon and the late Inez Seel McMahon. Her father then married Helen Burn McMahon. Helen was a very loving mama to Betty. Betty graduated from Bishop England High School a long time ago. Betty retired from the Post & Courier. She was a very faithful ad loving member of Christ Our King Catholic Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Susie Stelljes Hanf (Norman), Cindy Stelljes Vance (Dick), Julie  Stelljes Kelsch (Mike) all of Charleston, SC; son, Dietrick Stelljes (Renee) of Mount Pleasant, SC; twelve grandchildren, Ashley McGlothlin (Dan), Abbey Hanf, Allison Hanf, Blaise Kelsch, Brian Kelsch (Lizzie), Beau Kelsch (Mary), Betsy  Kelsch (Kiefer), David Vance (Shayla), Callie Vance Morgan (Joe), Mardie Stelljes, Madison Stelljes, Nikolay Stelljes; five great-grandsons, Blake Barnette, Milo Vance, Gus, John Paul, and Edmund Kelsch; eight great-granddaughters, Annabel McGlothlin, Eliza and Josie Morgan, Vivi Vance, Birdie, Lucy,  Alice, and Sophie Kelsch; sister, Marlene McMahon Phillips (Emory) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brother, Patrick McMahon of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sisters-in-law, Carole McMahon and Lorice McMahon. In addition to her husband, Eddie and her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Frank "Bubba" McMahon, Jr., and Sidney "Big Sid" McMahon; and family members, Margaret and Rial Fitch, John and Dolores Stelljes, Catherine "Kitty" Brown and Kevin McMahon. Betty's nieces and nephews were near and dear to her heart.
