Entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 22, 2011, Marian Frances Young Gaskin, widow of John N. Gaskin. Residence, Charleston, South Carolina. The relatives and friends of Marian Frances Gaskin are invited to attend her Memorial Service at J. HENRY STUHR WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 3:00 PM. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
Born August 23, 1932 in Palmetto, Florida, Marian was the daughter of Lee B. Young and Eva Gaylord Young Curtis. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Marian was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Survivors include 3 daughters: Patricia G. Jacoby and husband Rodgers, Phyllis G. Lauver and Lynda G. Baker, all of Charleston; a son: John David Gaskin and wife Cynthia of St. Marys, Georgia; 8 grandchildren: Ashley Suzanne Ferrell and husband Gregory, Sonny J. Vargas, Jodi L. Murray, Bradford G. Murray, D. Chase Gaskin, Austin L. Gaskin, Melissa A. Hunter, and W. Spencer Lauver; 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Terry Lee and Alva Young, preceded her in death. Special thanks to her life long friend Evelyn Meyers. She also leaves behind her pet and constant companion, Sadie.
