Marian Harrison Dieter

Marian Harrison Dieter, 95, of Mount Pleasant, SC, widow of Robert L. Dieter, entered into eternal rest on the evening of Saturday, August 3, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC on September 5, 1928, Mrs. Dieter was the daughter of the late William B. Harrison and Eva Gaddy Harrison. She was a graduate of Dreher High School, class of 1945. Marian was a wonderful hostess. She enjoyed cooking and made everyone feel welcome in her home.

Mrs. Dieter was a devoted wife of 69 years to her husband who was also a native of Columbia. She was preceded in death by their eldest son, Robert L. Dieter, Jr., her son-in-law Patrick J. McGregor, and her sister Louise Elizabeth Betty Harrison Spain.

She is survived by her son, David H. Dieter (Mary Ann), of Charleston and her daughter, Laura D. McGregor (John Carroll), of Mount Pleasant; her five grandchildren, Margaret D. Barnes (Brandon), of Charleston, Madeline L. McGregor (Justin), of Charlotte, NC, Patrick J. McGregor, Jr., Joseph R. McGregor, and Mark D. McGregor; her two great granddaughters, Penelope R. Barnes and Genevieve M. Barnes; and one great grandson, Graham P. Smith.

A memorial service is planned for Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11:00 am, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to East Cooper Meals on Wheels or St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
