Marian Cohen

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marian Cohen, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who passed away on March 22nd, at the age of 80. Born in Albany, NY on July 10th, 1944, she was a woman of unwavering love and dedication, always putting her family first. Marian will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, strong spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel loved and cherished.

Marian was a phenomenal listener and remembered every detail of her grandchildren’s endeavors in sports, music, and art. She loved children so much she chose to work in a pre-school when her kids were older so she could help others. The Cohen family moved around a lot and Marian worked tirelessly to make every place feel like home for the kids. She loved the beach, traveling the world, musical theater, and trying new exotic foods.

She is survived by her husband Stuart, her sister Linda, her 4 children and their spouses, and 8 grandchildren: Julian & Elise (Gabe, Saul, and Isaac); Neil & Chia-Lin (Noah and Chase); Samantha & Sam (Elliot, Nina, and Adrian); and Ken & Kellie. Everyone will miss her dearly. A funeral service will be held on March 24th at 11am at Emanu-El Cemetery in Charleston South Carolina. The family will be holding shiva at their home in Johns Island, South Carolina.
