Margene Warhurst Scruggs

Margene Warhurst Scruggs, 71, of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, SC, wife of Dewey Hobson Scruggs, Jr. died Monday, September 19, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held Sunday, September 25, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. Interment, Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday at the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 1:00 pm until time of the service.

Margene was born December 15, 1944 in Russellville, Alabama, daughter of the late Claude Warhurst and the late Mary Tinnie Flippo Warhurst. She was owner and operator of Styles Unlimited Beauty Salon.

She is survived by her husband, Dewey H. Scruggs, Jr. of Cape Coral, FL; daughter, Syleria Ruth and her husband, Glenn, of Mount Pleasant, SC; son, Rodney Wayne Scruggs of Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren, Syleria Maclane Ruth, Glenn Housten Ruth and Madison Leigh Ruth, all of Mount Pleasant, SC; twin brother and sister, Jane VonPingel and her husband, Richard, of Morganton, NC and Carl Wayne Warhurst and his wife, Sheila, of Vienna, VA; She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Charles Warhurst, Lee Warhurst, Jimmy Warhurst, Bob Warhurst and Tracy Warhurst.
