Margarite German, 89, of Summerville, South Carolina, and formerly of Rockville, MD, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 in the Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, 265 N. Shelmore Blvd. at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Margarite was born February 11, 1935 in Hanover, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Andrew Zavatsky and the late Helen Gurka Zavatsky. She made a beautiful home for her family, and when her children grew up, Margarite worked as a budget analyst for the civil service. She will be remembered for the way she loved her friends and family.
She is survived by daughter, Deborah Firestone (Carl) of Moncks Corner, SC; son, Chris German (Claire) of Rockville, MD; seven grandchildren, Rachel German, Zachary Firestone, Joshua German, Timothy Firestone, Melanie Firestone, Caleb German, Caroline German; two sisters, Mary Rodzon and Elaine Gayman (Jim); and many nieces and nephews, Raymond Kuhl, Lovie Welsh, Fred Hauer, Wayne Hauer, Andrea Pavone, Chuck Zavatsky, Bruce Zavatsky, Phillip Rodzon, John Rodzon, and Marlene Weston. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lovey Kuhl, John Zavatsky; and son, Matthew German (Danielle).
