Margaret Brooks Vaughan, 91, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of James C. Vaughan, Sr., entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 12, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1157 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment services following will be private. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Margaret was born August 17, 1923 in Greenville, SC, daughter of the late Wertz Spearman Brooks and the late Lula Poole Brooks. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Sam Rittenberg Boulevard and loved working with Circle 3 on their projects and Bible study. Margaret also enjoyed the Charleston Exchange Club Auxiliary and The Garden Club of Charleston. Her Tuesday morning bridge club was a very special group to her.
She is survived by her husband, James C. Vaughan, Sr. of Charleston, SC; four sons, James C. Vaughan, Jr. of Charleston, SC, John W. Vaughan of Walterboro, SC, and her twins, Stephen Vaughan of Charleston, SC; and Michael Vaughan of Summerville, SC; a granddaughter, Mikayla; one niece, Geni Specht; one nephew, Brooks Rogers; special friend, Phyllis Twitty of Davidson, NC.
The family wishes to thank Sylvia Coker and Jane Acker, members of her circle, for their special kindness during these last difficult weeks. They also appreciate the loving care at Hospice of Charleston in Mount Pleasant.
