Mrs.Robbins was born on March 27, 1921, in Charleston, the daughter and only child of Jacob Eugene Easterling and Lucile Knight Easterling. She was raised in Charleston and was graduated from Memminger High School. Many of her Memminger classmates became lifelong friends into their 80's and 90's, until their deaths. On August 18, 1939, Margaret Easterling married John Lowry (Bob) Robbins, who she met while window shopping with friends on King Street, a meeting that became a lifelong blessing to them and their family. They were married for 69 years, prior to Mr. Robbins' death on November 16, 2008.

In June of 1948, they moved to Riverland Terrace, where they made their home and raised their family, in the same home in which each of them died.Raised in the United Methodist Church, Mrs. Robbins was baptized at Bethel downtown Charleston, and then was an active member of Asbury Memorial after her marriage, until she and her husband helped establish and became charter members of Bethany on James Island, where she was active until the time of her death. For many years, she sang in the Bethany Choir, was a member of the United Methodist Women and always active in one of the Circles. She taught in the children's Sunday School and was active in visitation to promote church growth. A full-time homemaker for many years, Mrs. Robbins life was always centered around family and friends, and she was always a hands-on mother, involved in the education and activities of each of her daughters and then her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved and adored.

In later years, she worked in sales and retired in 1985 from Belks Department Store after twenty-five years. A person who never met a stranger, she came to know and care about many of her customers during those years, and many became her friends.

Mrs. Robbins is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law and their families: Gloria and Gary Davis of Charleston and their children: Jeremy Robbins Davis and his wife Cristin, and their daughter Riley and son Brady, of Decatur, GA.; and Christopher Matthew Davis of Charleston; Cheryl and Robert (Bobby) Hancock of Hanahan, and their son, Jonathan Robert and his wife Melissa, and their daughter Lillie, of Spartanburg, S. C., and Deborah and Ray Orvin of Greenville, S.C., and their children: April and Ray Borkman of North Charleston; and Trey Orvin of Charleston. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Betty Robbins and Myrldine Robbins of Hickory Grove, S. C.; four nieces and four nephews and their families of Hickory Grove and the upstate. She was predeceased by five brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and one nephew, all of whom were important to her and whom she loved.
