Margaret Ruth Parker

Margaret Ruth Collins Parker, 96, of Mount Pleasant, SC, widow of John Cecil Parker, Sr entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Her funeral service will be held Friday, December 14, 2012 in Cooper River Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Riverview Memorial Park . The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL.

Ruth was born January 20, 1916 in Johnson City, TN, the daughter of the late Richard Coy Collins and Grace Lesueur Collins. She was a retired Bookkeeper with Belk Department Store and a member of Cooper River Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Lynn Grooms and her husband Charles Martin Grooms of Goose Creek, SC; two sisters Jeanette Cunningham of Johnson City, TN and Barbara Blevins of Greenwood, IN; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, John C. Parker, Jr.; three sisters, Florence Reynolds, Gladys Kruger and Mary Louise Bond.

Memorials may be made to Cooper River Baptist Church, 1059 Crawford Street, North Charleston, SC 29405.
