Margaret Duke Medsker

Margaret Duke Medsker, 89, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 under Charleston Heartland Hospice Home Care. Margaret was born October 5, 1925 in Jackson County, Georgia. In 1986 she traveled to Charleston, SC for a Square Dance event, met and married Jerry Medsker a year later on October 4, 1987. They were SC Square Dance Federation Chairman for two years and SC Good Sam State Directors for 6 years while being members of the Charleston Good Sam Chapter- Low Country Sams. For the next 19 years they traveled; attending National Square Dance Conventions and Good Sam State International Samborees. These travels have allowed them to stay overnight in 49 of the US States and 9 Canadian Provinces! Health issues stopped their travels in 2010.

Survivors include one son, Don Duke, sister Lottie Wilson, Step-daughter, Lou Duke, and husband Jerry Medsker. The family will receive friends Friday, March 13, 2015 in J.HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, (3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at the graveside Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson, Georgia at 11:00 a.m.
