Margaret Ann McAlhany

Margaret Ann Maggie Smith McAlhany, 69, of Charleston SC, passed away July 18, 2013 in Charleston SC. Visitation will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, Sunday July 21, 2013 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of her Life Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at 1057 Fort Sumter Drive, James Island.

Maggie was born in Summerville, SC to Margaret Frances Infinger and William Henry Smith on July 25, 1943. She went to high school at Chicora in Charleston; graduated in1961 and attended 2 years at Anderson Junior College until 1963.

Maggie is preceded in death by her parents Margaret Frances Infinger, William Henry Smith and her husband Kenneth Marion McAlhany.

Maggie is survived by her two sons Kevin Todd McAlhany and Shawn David McAlhany. Her brother William Dale Smith, her best friend and partner Robert Bell Van Ness, and her seven grandchildren, Aaron, Marc, Serena, Savannah, Caleb, Kyle, and Cooper. They loved their granny.

Maggie loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved her family, adored her grandchildren and loved her Bob. Her friends and family will miss her dearly and remember her loving nature and vitality.
