Margaret "Mardie" James
January 2, 1932 — February 3, 2014
Margaret Mahoney "Mardie" James, 82, of Mount Pleasant, SC, widow of John Donald James ("Squeaky") and daughter of the late William J. and Margaret Mahoney, died Monday, February 3, 2014.
Mardie was a member of Christ Our King Catholic Church and a proud graduate of Bishop England High School, from which she had life long friendships. She was a loving, caring and devoted mother and friend.
Mardie enjoyed life to the fullest with her card playing friends, but most especially with her extraordinary sisters of OLOPS. She loved her daily walks on the beach that ended with her special chili dog lunch. She also loved to travel, and spend any and every opportunity she could with children and grandbabies.
Mardie is survived by her sons, Donny (Ellen) and Billy (Anne), daughter Mary Hayes (David) and son-in-law, Stephen Miller. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Christen, Lindsay, Jadie, Mary Crawford, Ellie, Kevin (Sarah), Will, Lainey and Jamie, along with four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy and Peggy.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 7, 2014 in Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive at 10:00 am. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will be held at a later date in St Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 5 pm to 7 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL with the Holy Rosary being recited at 5 pm.
