Margaret "Margie" W. Hughes, 70, of Hanahan, South Carolina, loving wife of Ronald Lane Hughes, entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 15, 2022. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the Foster Creek Baptist Church, 901 Foster Creek Rd., Hanahan, SC 29410 at 2:00pm.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00pm until the time of service.  Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Margie was born May 31, 1952 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Albert Walters and Vera Jones Walters.  She was a member of Ferndale Baptist Church for 52 years, where she found the love of her life and eventually was married in that church.  Margie was very involved in her church life, where she sang in the choir, took care of children in the nursery and was a member of the Food Committee.  Margie and Ron enjoyed sightseeing and traveling together, spending time on both coasts and areas in between.  She also loved cutting the grass, while riding on her John Deere lawn tractor.  She had a knack for "finding what was needed", whether it was a vehicle for a family member, or her being instrumental in locating the land for what would be the future home of the Foster Creek Baptist Church! She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Margie is survived by her loving husband of 43 years; one nephew, Daniel Walters (Sheila); one niece, Tammy Hughes Dennis (Tony); brother-in-law, Kenneth Hughes and sister-in-law, Jeanette Pierce (Sam).

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gale Walters and her Pappous, Emmanuel P. Banis.
